Michael Makowiecki
Strategic Marketing Consultant & Founder, MAKO Consult
"Clarity beats complexity. Strategy beats tactics. Understanding beats assumptions. That's what I build."
I'm a strategic marketing consultant with over 15 years of experience building and leading marketing functions across B2B tech, SaaS, FMCG, and professional services. I've worked in global corporations, advertising agencies, and scale-up environments (from Bristol to Phnom Penh to Hamburg), and I've seen how marketing works (and doesn't work) from every angle.
I founded MAKO Consult because I kept seeing the same pattern: companies have talented teams, active campaigns, and plenty of marketing activity — but the strategic foundation connecting it all is often unclear. Not absent, just not explicit enough to guide decisions. That's the gap I help close.
I've worked with international FMCG brands at Imperial Brands, led strategic consulting for agencies like Serviceplan and Scholz & Friends, and built marketing systems for B2B tech companies like 4flow. That combination (corporate brand management, agency strategy, and hands-on B2B execution) gives me perspective most consultants don't have. I understand how companies make decisions internally and how those strategies actually get executed in practice.
Examples: I repositioned an FMCG brand entering new markets by developing positioning frameworks their local teams could adapt without losing brand coherence. I've also helped advertising agencies develop AI implementation plans for their workflows and delivered hands-on training to get teams actually using the technology.
I challenge assumptions not to be contrarian, but because comfortable thinking rarely leads to the best solutions. I look for new paths grounded in evidence and built through understanding. Strategies that fit real constraints, not theoretical ideals.
That's what MAKO Consult brings: strategic clarity built specifically for your business context, through a combination of experience, analytical rigor, and genuine curiosity about how to make it work.
